Memorial Health provides medical care regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. If a patient cannot pay for care and is also not able to access resources from state or federal programs, we work with the patient to find a financial solution, to know their options and get help from state or federal programs if they qualify.
It is the mission of Memorial Health to improve the health of the people and communities we serve. Therefore, we offer help to patients and families who cannot pay for their medical care.
To better serve the community and further our mission, our hospitals accept a wide variety of payment methods and offer resources to assist the patient and responsible party in resolving any outstanding balance.

How to apply for financial assistance
Patients seeking financial assistance may apply by completing a Financial Assistance Application. Patients may also request free copies of the Financial Assistance Application and the foregoing policies by mail, or by contacting us. The Financial Assistance Application and the foregoing policies (as well as this plain-language summary) is available in English, Spanish and French.
A patient qualifying for financial assistance under the Hospital’s Financial Assistance Policy with respect to emergency or medically necessary care will not be charged more than the amounts generally billed by the Hospital for the same services to individuals who have insurance covering such care.
Complaints or concerns with the uninsured patient discount application process or hospital financial assistance process may be reported to the Health Care Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General at 1-877-305-5145 (TTY: 1-800-964-3013) or online at https://illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/File-A-Complaint/.
