Outpatient Discharge

Requirements for Outpatient Discharge

If you go home the same day as your procedure, you will be given instructions which may include these guidelines : 

1. A responsible adult must drive you home from the hospital. You will not be allowed to drive yourself, and you should not take a bus or taxi alone.
2. If you have received anesthesia (including IV sedation, blocks, spinal, epidural or general anesthesia), someone should stay with you the remainder of the day and night.
3. Follow all instructions given by the medical staff and your physician. If you have questions, call your physician.
