The federal Rural Health Clinic designation recognizes clinics that work to increase access to primary care and other health services for patients in rural communities that have a documented shortage of medical providers. We are proud to have several Rural Health Clinics within our Memorial Care network:

At Memorial, we are committed to reducing the health disparities that rural residents face. We live out this commitment in a variety of ways, including:

  • Working closely with SIU School of Medicine, University of Illinois School of Medicine and others to prioritize recruiting physicians, advanced practice providers and other key healthcare professionals to the rural communities we serve.
  • Partnering with other organizations to support public health initiatives in rural communities, drawing on the unique health needs identified in our Community Health Needs Assessments.
