Patient Optimization Program

In partnership with the Memorial Wellness Center, the Patient Optimization program works to lower surgical risk and improve surgery results. We offer a comprehensive, customized approach to give patients safe, high-quality care before, during and after your surgery.

The Patient Optimization program is a multi-week individualized treatment plan to prepare patient for orthopedic surgery. Expert medical, lifestyle, physical and nutritional specialists work together. Evidence demonstrates that being overweight, having poorly controlled blood sugar, and smoking can greatly increase risks of postoperative complications and poorer outcomes following surgery. The Patient Optimization Program can help patients reach these targeted goals:

BMI (Body Mass Index) Less Than 40

HgA1C (Blood Sugar Levels Over Time) Less Than 7

Smoking Cessation

Our physician-led, multidisciplinary team works with the patient, patient's referring orthopedic surgeon and primary care physician. Together, we help make sure the patient has the information and tools necessary for the best outcomes possible.
