The Living Room provides an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for adults experiencing psychiatric emergencies. Guests receive support from peer and mental health professionals in a safe and calming atmosphere. Upon arrival, guests answer several questions and are linked with a peer counselor.
Free of charge, the Living Room offers:

- Help connecting with healthcare, food and housing resources
- Support from professionals with mental health experience
- Access to internet
- Light refreshments
- Follow-up services
Available to anyone over the age of 18, The Living Room is located at Memorial Behavioral Health at 710 N. Eighth St. in Springfield. No appointment is required, and the Living Room is open from noon to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.
