Taylorville Memorial Foundation Funds 25 New Inpatient Beds for Acute Care

12/16/2024

Taylorville Memorial Foundation recently funded 25 new inpatient beds in Acute Care at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. The beds cost $206,200.

The updated beds include patient safety features including additional alarms, light reminders and locks for the head of the bed so the angle can’t be lowered past a certain point.

“These beds offer enhanced features to help keep our patients safe and comfortable and alarms that assist nurses with providing safe care,” said Kim Bourne, president and CEO of Taylorville Memorial Hospital. “We greatly appreciate the support of our Foundation donors, who helped make this purchase possible. It’s another example of how the Foundation keeps donations local to support patient care.”

The new beds have three lights at the foot of the bed to give nurses a quick status of the bed’s position, alarms and siderails. The length of each bed can be adjusted and/or extended for patients who are taller. Lift equipment and bedside tables now fit under the new beds.
