Two Memorial Health leaders have been recognized for being among the best in their fields by Becker’s Hospital Review.
Jennifer Bond, Springfield Memorial Hospital vice president and chief nursing officer, was named to the 2024 list of "CNOs to Know." The full list is available at beckershospitalreview.com/lists/213-cnos-to-know-2024.html.
In her role, Bond provides executive leadership and operational coordination for patient care services and nursing practice activities at SMH, focusing on implementation of patient-centered care delivery models, evidence-based standards of patient care and performance improvement initiatives aimed at increasing the safety and quality of care.
“We’re proud that SMH has achieved four consecutive Magnet designations for nursing excellence, making it one of the top hospitals for high-quality nursing nationwide,” said Ed Curtis, president and CEO of Memorial Health. “The work that Jennifer leads has been instrumental in making that achievement possible.”
“Nursing at Memorial Health is truly a team endeavor,” Bond said. “It’s an honor to work alongside so many talented nurses at SMH who share my commitment to providing the best care possible for our patients.”
Valeria Cueto, Memorial Health vice president, Equity and Experience, has been named a "Hispanic and Latino Leader to Know.” She leads the organization’s equity, diversity and inclusion efforts as well as community health, language access, patient experience and pastoral care. “Valeria's passion for improving the Memorial experience and pursuing health equity has been transformational not only within our organization, but also across the communities we serve,” Curtis said.
“Our mission to improve lives and strengthen communities through better health extends far beyond the walls of our hospitals and clinics,” Cueto said. “I’m proud of the work we continue to do alongside our community partners to ensure healthcare access for all.”
These honors come only a few weeks after the recognition of Dolan Dalpoas, president and CEO of Lincoln Memorial Hospital, and Kim Bourne, president and CEO of Taylorville Memorial Hospital, as "Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know.”
“This recognition by Becker’s is a reflection of the strength of our leadership team and our shared commitment to doing what’s best for our patients and our region,” Curtis said.
