Registration is open for an upcoming Safe Sitter course at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. The Safe Sitter class is intended to give preteens and teens the confidence and skills to be effective, safe babysitters.
The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, in the TMH Community Room. The cost is $25, which covers course materials. Lunch will be provided by the TMH Auxiliary.
Students will use manikins to practice lifesaving skills. There will also be role playing, games and activities as the students learn how to handle everyday situations that could present a risk to children’s safety, including what to do when severe weather occurs.
To reduce traffic congestion, parents or guardians should drop off and pick up students at the hospital’s south entrance.
