Bruce Perkins, a registered nurse in the Cath Lab, is the Springfield Memorial Hospital Colleague of the Month for September.

The patient who nominated Perkins appreciated the nurse’s communication style and positivity, great attitude and interactions with physicians and other colleagues.

“From the absolute second Bruce came into contact with me, he was positive, easing my fears, communicating what was next and just really going above and beyond,” the patient wrote. “Even during a tense time, he was communicating well with the physician in a calm, respectful way. He constantly checked on me and made me feel 100% at ease.”

Perkins has worked for Springfield Memorial Hospital since 2009.
