Tonya Matthews, technical coordinator for cardiac and vascular, inpatient radiology, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for September.
Matthews showed compassion for a patient who had two tests scheduled and came in on the wrong day for the first test. Matthews worked the patient into the schedule and completed the test. She then confirmed the correct date for the second appointment.
“I was very nervous for my second test, a stress test,” wrote the patient who nominated Matthews. “When I showed up, I was so relieved it was Tonya doing part of my test, too. She calmed my nerves, talked to me the entire test and made the experience so easy for me. Her kindness and care will always have me coming back to this hospital.”
Matthews has worked for Lincoln Memorial Hospital since 2013.
