“The goal is to remind everyone how important daily physical activity is for maintaining health,” said Kayla Swaar, Extension SNAP-Ed educator. “The storybook walks will lead children and families around a path as they read one page at a time and will feature the popular children’s book, ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance.’”
Both storybook walks are free and open to the public. Participants can also make a drum craft and take home a free activity. Registration is not required. For more information, call 217-605-5014 or email mccain.molly@mhsil.com.
The LMH Market will host the first Storybook Walk on Saturday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to noon as part of the Moving at the Market program.
The second storybook walk will be held on the LMH Wellness Trail on Wednesday, Aug. 9, during the 9 a.m. and noon Trailblazer walking groups.
