Event Details

Decatur families are invited to attend a free health fair at Hope Academy, 955 N. Illinois St., Decatur. The event is sponsored by DMH and Decatur Public School District 61 and includes activities, resources and giveaways – all free of charge.

Activities Include:

• Taste-testing and cooking demonstrations for how to prepare winter vegetables and other healthy foods
• Financial literacy resources (budgeting, home loans, savings, etc.)
• Mental health wellness activity
• Health resources
• Indoor workout options and chair aerobics demonstrations
• Home ownership resources provided by a local realtor
• Potato bar with fresh vegetables and grilled chicken toppings
• Food Pantry available for families to shop

Giveaways for randomly selected winners:

• Two adult bicycles
• Two children’s bicycles
• One-month passes to Choice Health and Fitness, Decatur Indoor Sports Center, YMCA
• Bus tokens at the event for families who utilize the Decatur Public Transit system
