SMH Safe Sitter®

Join us for a Safe Sitter class that gives preteens and teens ages 11–14 the confidence and skills to be effective, safe babysitters. Training covers lifesaving skills for choking, along with a workbook. Students will practice hands-on skill work using manikins and the course includes role playing, games and activities designed to help students handle everyday situations that could put children's safety at risk - including how to respond when severe weather occurs. There will be a mini-graduation ceremony from 2:30-3 p.m. at the end of the class. 

WHO: Sangamon/Menard County students, ages 11 to 14 years old.

WHAT: Springfield Memorial Hospital SafeSitter student registration. Fee for each student is $35. Space is limited to 32 students per class.

WHEN: Saturday, August 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Edgar J. Curtis Memorial Learning Center (228 W. Miller St., Springfield). Check-in located just inside the lobby.
