TMH Foundation Holds Successful Fundraising Event

12/23/2019

The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation held its seventh annual Signature Event fundraiser titled “Gifts of the Season” on Saturday, Dec. 7, at The Pillars Event Center in Taylorville.

Co-chaired by Shirley DeFraities and Cheryl Huggins, the evening kicked off with a social hour before the dinner and program.  Guests were treated to music by “Wild Columbine” while enjoying a plated dinner catered by local favorite Angelo’s.  Following the dinner, a program highlighted the various scholarships and educational grants the Foundation has overseen this year.  The program included introductions of six scholarship and educational grant recipients as well as recognizing the tremendous response efforts of TMH colleagues the night of the December 1st tornado which had cancelled last year’s Signature Event.

“This evening was such a special event to recognize donors who have invested in local students who have aspirations to achieve higher education,” said Raedena Ryan, executive director of the TMH Foundation.  “It is truly wonderful to have the community come together to support these students and to recognize the impact of their donations.”

The TMH Foundation acknowledged $57,000 in educational assistance to local students through administration of the Dr. George Ferry Memorial Scholarship, Carolyn M. Butterfield Trusting Scholarship, John H. Butterfield Agriculture and Nutrition Scholarship and the Healthcare Careers Educational Grant program.  More information on the educational assistance opportunities provided through the TMH Foundation can be found on TaylorvilleMemorialHospital.org/Foundation.
