Memorial Health System Wins Award for Talent Development

12/3/2019

Memorial Health System has been named a 2019 BEST Award winner by the Association for Talent Development.

The BEST Award recognizes organizations around the globe that invest in employee education and development and demonstrate a high value for learning. Other winners this year include Samsung, Verizon, Dish Network, Hilton, Papa Murphy’s, Walmart and AARP.

The Springfield-based nonprofit health system was ranked 27 out of the top 57 winners from 10 countries, including Australia, India, Russia and the United Kingdom.

“Receiving the BEST Award reinforces our belief that developing talent within our organization makes us stronger,” said Aimee Allbritton, senior vice president and chief transformation officer for Memorial Health System.

“Thousands of our colleagues in the health system benefit from learning opportunities every year, ranging from taking part in simulations in the Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation to benefiting from funds that allow them to pursue further education,” Allbritton said. “These efforts, in turn, improve the care we provide to our patients.”

The health system was also recognized earlier this year with a LearningElite gold award from Chief Learning Officer magazine. Memorial was the highest ranked health system and placed seventh overall to receive the international award for learning innovation. Memorial Health System also earned the top honor for Best Mid-Sized Company.

The National Center for Healthcare Leadership also recognized Memorial Health System with a BOLD (Best Organizations for Leadership Development) Award. Memorial was one of only two Illinois healthcare organizations to place among the top 10 honorees for the BOLD Award.

National Employee Learning Week runs from Dec. 2-6.
