Logan County businesses and organizations are invited to bring their health-related offerings to the Community Health Fair that will be held this year on March 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lincoln Park District. The health fair is sponsored by the Lincoln Park District and the Logan County Department of Public Health.
This year’s theme, “5 2 1 0 – Be a Healthy Hero” is highlighting an easy to remember program to keep healthy: eat five fruits and vegetables each day, no more than 2 hours of recreational screen time each day, at least one hour of activity daily and no sugar-sweetened beverages.
“We already have several exhibitors lined up for the event but we want to open the opportunity up to the public,” said Marcia Greenslate, administrator at the Lincoln Park District. “A booth at the health fair is a great opportunity to make your services known and help our local effort to encourage healthy choices. We especially encourage exhibits that can promote one of the 5 2 1 0 messages.”
This year, the event will also feature a 65 foot inflatable obstacle course sponsored by Healthy Communities Partnership and other family friendly activities.
A limited number of tables are available. Contact Mallory Ramos at the Logan County Department of Public Health at 217-735-2317 for more information. Individuals who would like to see updates about what will be featured at the health fair are encouraged to LIKE “Community Health Fair Logan County“ on Facebook.
