Henry Janssen, Madeline Jackson, Christian Solterman and Megan Wilson were the first place overall winners at this morning’s 27th Annual Passavant-Gatorade 5K and 10K Race at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, Illinois.
For the third year in a row, Janssen won top honors in the men’s 10K with a time of 33 minutes, 37 seconds. His time was almost two minutes faster than his winning time last year. For the second year in a row, Jackson was first in the women’s 10K in a time of 46 minutes, 10 seconds.
Solterman captured first place in the men’s 5K in a time of 19 minutes, 03 seconds, almost a minute faster than last year’s winning time. Wilson won the women’s 5K title in a time of 22 minutes, 52 seconds.
Awards were also distributed to first, second, and third place finishers, male and female, in 14 age categories.
Three hundred sixty-five runners competed in the races. Proceeds will provide funds for children, identified through the Passavant’s Healthy Jacksonville initiative, to attend the Western Illinois Youth Camp this summer.
