The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Community Health Collaborative is again offering a FREE Fitness Court Ambassador training on Wednesday, April 3 at 5:30pm. The one-hour training will take place at the Fitness Court located at 235 Eighth Street in Lincoln. Local individuals 14 or older interested in having fun while working out is welcome to attend the training to become a Fitness Court Ambassador. A light snack & water will be provided.
Funded by the ALMH Foundation and in partnership with the City of Lincoln, the Fitness Court ® launched in August 2018. The Fitness Court is an outdoor bodyweight circuit training facility designed to transform public spaces into community fitness hubs and make first class fitness free – for everyone! Over 40 Fitness Court ambassadors were trained in 2018.
The April 3 training will include how to use each of the seven stations including an easy, medium & hard variation. In addition, they will be trained on how to use the accompanying app that offers free routines, fitness court challenges and nationwide contest opportunities. Ambassadors will receive free shirts upon completion of the training and have the confidence and knowledge to help others use the court.
“As we continue our work to improve the health of the people and communities we serve, we look forward to the opportunities for free activity that the Fitness Court will bring to the residents of Lincoln and Logan County ”, said Dolan Dalpoas, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital president and CEO. “We are thankful for our partnership with the City of Lincoln and their commitment to improve the health of our community.”
ALMH and the City of Lincoln will continue to partner with local trainers and fitness court ambassadors to connect the local community with free activities and experiences that encourage a healthy lifestyle.
In the case of rain, the training will take place at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in the Steinfort Room.
