Orthopaedic Surgery Center of Illinois Receives National Patient-Satisfaction Award

12/5/2013

The Orthopaedic Surgery Center of Illinois (OSCI), Memorial Health System’s and the Orthopedic Center of Illinois’ ambulatory surgery services at Koke Mill Medical Center, has been named a 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates.

The award recognizes top-performing facilities that achieve the 95th percentile of performance in patient satisfaction among Press Ganey clients in the United States.

“OSCI has worked hard to develop a culture of excellence over the past several years by focusing on building a solid foundation for customer services,” said Dr. Leo Ludwig, OSCI’s medical director. “Each and every staff member contributes to the patient experience. This award is a reflection of their dedication to make sure our patients have a positive experience when they are here.”

Less than 5 percent of all Press Ganey clients reach this national threshold and consistently maintain it for the one-year reporting period. Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve the patient experience.

“Achieving this level of excellence reflects the organization’s commitment to delivering outstanding service and quality. OSCI’s efforts benefit patients in Springfield, Sangamon County and surrounding areas and will lead to improved patient experiences,” Patrick T. Ryan, Press Ganey’s CEO, said.

Press Ganey Award winners were recognized during an awards lunch at the Press Ganey National Client Conference held Nov. 18-20 in Orlando, Fla.

“This award confirms OSCI’s position as the leading provider of outpatient orthopedic surgery and pain management in central Illinois,” Dr. Ludwig said.
