We are excited to host the first Land of Lincoln Economic Development Corporation (LLEDC) meeting on Monday, April 23rd in the M.G. Nelson Family Auditorium starting at 10:30 a.m. The LLEDC is a new public and private partnership focused on economic development in Springfield and Sangamon County. Their mission is to "pursue economic prosperity and growth for Sangamon County and the City of Springfield by creating a financially sound community able to attract new businesses and skilled talent, while retaining today's profitable companies and their local workforce." Community organization leaders will be collaborating to create a board of directors for the corporation. Ed Curtis, President and CEO of Memorial Health System will sit on the board along with Presdient of Springfield Clinic, Ray Williams, and Dr. Jerry Kruse, Dean and Provost of SIU School of Medicine.
