TMH Diabetes Class Now Offers Calorie King Books

10/20/2017

The Diabetes Self-Management Class offered at Taylorville Memorial Hospital now has the financial support thanks to a grant awarded by the TMH Foundation.  These funds are allocated to providing copies of the latest “Calorie King” by Alan Borushek book for everyone who takes the course.

The “Calorie King” book provides nutrition information for a wide variety of foods, including menu items at popular restaurants.

“These books are a useful resource for diabetes patients trying to live a healthier lifestyle,” said Janelle Cornell, TMH dietitian.  “It is a great tool to be able to hand to them.”

The next session of classes are set to begin on October 3 and run for four weeks.  The class will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday night in Room 457 at TMH.  For more information on how to participate, please contact Janelle Cornell at (217) 824-1840 or email cornell.janelle@mhsil.com.
