General cardiologist Sakiru Isa, MD, has joined the growing team at Memorial Specialty Care Cardiology.
“We’re excited to continue to expand our ability to provide high-quality, high-tech heart care in Decatur and central Illinois,” said Danielle Dillman, Senior Director Clinical Operations. “Dr. Isa’s expertise in treating conditions like coronary artery disease, heart failure and cardiac arrhythmia make him a great addition to the team.”
Dr. Isa earned his medical degree from the University of Ilorin College of Health Sciences in Nigeria, where he served as chief resident. He also completed a residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University, a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Arkansas, a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Virginia Tech.
“Cardiology is a field that’s rapidly advancing,” Dr. Isa said. “There are so many more treatments and diagnostic options available today that we can use to improve people’s quality of life. I’m looking forward to working with the team at Memorial Specialty Care as I get to know my patients and help them manage their heart conditions.”
