Tree-Lighting Ceremony for LMF Light Up a Life to Be Held Dec. 1

11/2/2026

The public is invited to the annual Lincoln Memorial Foundation Light Up a Life tree-lighting ceremony, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec.1, in the lobby of Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

The ceremony will celebrate loved ones and honor those who have passed. A free soup supper, dine in or grab-and-go is provided with an RSVP to the event.

Diane Campbell and her husband Dave have participated in the Light Up a Life event for 30 years. “It’s a wonderful and meaningful way to honor loved ones and special people in our lives,” she said. “The Lincoln Memorial Foundation is a vital part of our Lincoln community, and we support it 100 percent.”

Bill and Lauri Bates each grew up in Lincoln and returned in the late 1970s to raise their family. “We had wonderful family and friends, many of whom are now gone,” Bates said. “Lauri and I cannot think of a better way to remember and honor those family members and friends than to support the Lincoln Memorial Foundation through the Light Up a Life campaign.”

An option to donate to the Lincoln Memorial Foundation in honor, remembrance or appreciation of a loved one is also available. Honorary names will be printed in special online-only publications of Lincoln Daily News and New Herald News on Dec. 24. Deadline for names to be included in the online editions is Dec. 1.

Donations allow the Lincoln Memorial Foundation to provide healthcare career education grants, purchase medical equipment to improve patient care, strengthen the LMH Community Health Collaborative and enhance vital programs of the LMH Auxiliary.
