Monica Schriber, RN, in Surgery at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, has been named October Colleague of the Month.
Schriber, who joined the hospital in September 1999, was recognized for her dedication to patient safety, her advocacy for surgical patients and her willingness to share decades of knowledge with colleagues.
Colleagues also rely on Schriber’s careful documentation of surgeon preferences and procedures. Her extensive notes serve as a practical resource when questions arise. She is also quick to respond when situations become challenging, bringing experience, attention to detail and a steady focus on safe, high-quality care.
“Monica is not afraid to stand up for patient safety,” wrote the nominator. “Her attention to detail is outstanding.”
Beyond the hospital, Schriber shares her knowledge and compassion through her annual involvement with Camp Courage. Her nominator described her as a role model whose commitment reaches patients, colleagues and others in the community.
The Colleague of the Month award recognizes Memorial Health employees who exemplify the organization’s vision, mission and values through exceptional service, compassion and commitment to patients, families and colleagues.
