Karen Hawkins, an emergency medical technician and unit secretary in Emergency Services at Lincoln Memorial Hospital (LMH), has been named September Colleague of the Month.
Hawkins, who joined LMH in July 2025, is recognized for her willingness to assist whenever needed and her positive approach to every task.
Her nominator highlighted the compassion Hawkins shows patients and colleagues during challenging situations. Her sense of humor and upbeat demeanor also help encourage colleagues during demanding shifts.
“Karen’s compassion and caring nature truly set her apart,” wrote the nominator. “She is deeply empathetic toward patients and colleagues alike, providing support in some of the most challenging situations.”
Hawkins also seeks opportunities to learn new skills and expand her knowledge so she can better serve patients and support team performance.
