Dr. Asad Sohail, a podiatrist specializing in foot and ankle surgery, has joined Memorial Specialty Care.

Dr. Sohail earned his bachelor of science in biology and master of public health degrees from the University of Illinois Springfield, before completing his doctor of podiatric medicine degree at Rosalind Franklin University's Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a podiatric surgery residency at University Hospitals, Cleveland, followed by a fellowship in trauma, reconstructive rearfoot surgery, pediatrics and sports medicine.

Dr. Sohail is the first specialist hired at the newly launched Memorial Specialty Care Podiatry, which is based at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

“We are excited to expand our services to include podiatry,” said Kimberly Paskiewicz, vice president, clinical enterprise medical affairs at Memorial Health. “We are currently recruiting additional specialists to join Dr. Sohail in caring for patients with complex foot and ankle needs.”

Dr. Sohail’s areas of interest include foot conditions caused by diabetes, sports medicine and reconstruction of the rearfoot and ankle.

“My goal is not only to help patients recover and regain mobility, but also to build lasting relationships based on trust and personalized care,” he said.
