Amy Jo Larry, a physical therapist at Memorial Therapy Center in Decatur, has been named July Colleague of the Month.
Larry, who joined the nonprofit hospital in October 1999, was recognized for identifying and helping resolve a billing issue affecting outpatient therapy services. Through careful analysis, she provided the information services (IS) team with what they needed to diagnose and resolve the problem.
The solution improves billing accuracy for both patients and insurers while strengthening the organization’s financial processes.
“I would like to recognize Amy Jo Larry, one of our exceptional physical therapists, for her outstanding display of stewardship and commitment to excellence,” wrote the nominator. “Her thorough analysis provided the IS team with the examples they needed to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue.”
With 25 years of service, Larry has been a steady presence through many phases of change within the hospital. Her work reflects a commitment to integrity, stewardship and quality, from system-level improvements to the care she provides patients each day.
