Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Named Among Most Wired in Nation

7/19/2013

Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital has been named among the nation’s most wired hospitals in the 15th annual Health Care’s Most Wired Survey.

The survey is an industry-standard benchmark study that measures the level of information technology used in U.S. hospitals and health systems. Abraham Lincoln is an affiliate of Memorial Health System.

“We are gratified and proud that two of our Memorial Health System hospitals have earned recognition as ‘Most Wired’ hospitals for 2013,” said Dr. David Graham, senior vice president and chief information officer for Memorial Health System. “This validates the successful execution of our decade-long commitment to an electronic health record strategy to provide safe, high-quality and patient-centered care to all those we serve.”

Health Care’s Most Wired Survey, conducted between Jan. 15 and March 15, asked hospitals and health systems nationwide to answer questions regarding their information technology initiatives.

Respondents completed 659 surveys, representing 1,713 hospitals, or roughly 30 percent of all U.S. hospitals.

Memorial Medical Center, another affiliate of Memorial Health System, was also named to the list. The two hospitals join an elite list of national leaders in the area of technological innovation, including Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Graham said.
