Taylorville Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome Stephen Salisbury, PharmD, as the newest pharmacist at the hospital.
Salisbury grew up in Taylorville and worked at the Medicine Shoppe during high school and college summer breaks. It was there that he learned the ins and outs of pharmacy under the guidance of excellent role models.
Salisbury attended the St. Louis College of Pharmacy where he received his doctorate degree in pharmacy. At the same time, his wife, Sara, completed her B.S. degree at Goldfarb School of Nursing in St. Louis.
After living in St. Louis for nine years, Salisbury and his wife decided they wanted to raise their family in Taylorville closer to their families. They made the move in the summer of 2013.
“Having worked for seven years in retail pharmacy, I am very excited about this opportunity to be a hospital pharmacist working with doctors, nurses and patients as a member of the Pharmacy Department at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. As a member of the new Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, I will work closely with patients while monitoring their progress, a part of the job I will particularly enjoy,” said Salisbury.
In his spare time, Salisbury is a member of the Taylorville Public Schools Foundation and has volunteered as the THS ninth grade boys’ basketball coach and United Way fund drive volunteer.
Salisbury and his wife, Sara, are the proud parents of two-year-old Lucas and five-month-old Maci.
