Kelsey Maddox, RN, at Memorial Wellness Center in Decatur, has been named June Colleague of the Month for the Memorial Health Ambulatory Group.
Maddox, who has worked at Memorial Health since May 2018, is recognized for the many ways she supports patients and colleagues while continuing to deliver strong nursing care. Colleagues said she often steps in to help with registration paperwork, check-ins, phone calls and scheduling needs, taking on front-office responsibilities when needed while still rooming patients and completing her clinical duties.
Recently, when a medical provider left the office sick, Maddox called every patient on the schedule to reschedule appointments and then updated front-office staff. During other short-staffed periods, she jumped in without hesitation to answer phones, greet patients and keep the center running smoothly.
"Kelsey wore many different 'hats' in the past year," wrote one nominator. "She always kept a smile and friendly attitude to all, and made sure patients were always given the best care possible.”
