Lisa Buchanan, RN, has been named Jacksonville Memorial Hospital's June Colleague of the Month.
Recognized for her compassion, flexibility and dedication, Buchanan was nominated for Colleague of the Month after stepping in to assist the OB department during an exceptionally busy shift.
Buchanan normally works in the surgery department. Drawing upon previous labor and delivery experience, she provided key help to the OB team and surgical teams, the surgeon and patient so that a cesarean section could be performed without delay.
"Lisa stepped in without hesitation when the situation required it," wrote the nominator. "She reminded me what true teamwork and compassion in nursing looked like."
