Mark Falk, a pharmacy narcotic technician specialist, has been named June Colleague of the Month at Decatur Memorial Hospital (DMH).
Falk, who joined the nonprofit hospital in April 2003, is recognized for the precision, vigilance and reliability he brings to a critical area of pharmacy operations. His nominator described him as a colleague whose work often happens behind the scenes but who plays an essential role in supporting patient safety.
"Mark manages the narcotics here at DMH, sifting through mountains of data daily to monitor movements and usages," wrote the nominator. "Mark immediately addresses any narcotic discrepancies, often going straight to the source to speak with staff directly."
Beyond his oversight of narcotics, Falk is known as a dependable resource for the department. Colleagues turn to him to troubleshoot technical issues, share operational knowledge and step in when extra help is needed, including covering for coworkers on days off.
