Elyssian “El” Rawdin, a lab services technician in the Decatur Memorial Hospital laboratory, has been named April Colleague of the Month.
Rawdin joined Decatur Memorial Hospital in June 2024 and quickly became a trusted presence in the laboratory, first on night shift and now on days, where they help support timely, accurate testing for patients across the hospital.
“Since their arrival, it was clear their work ethic, passion for science and blooming love for patient care has caught the attention of many in the department and across the hospital,” wrote one nominator. “Employees frequently request El to come back to night shift due to their talent, but unfortunately the day shift employees are selfishly going keep them.”
In their role as a lab services technician, Rawdin processes specimens, supports workflow across shifts and takes initiative to improve procedures in the processing area, helping colleagues work more efficiently while supporting high-quality care for patients.
