Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital has announced Mark Craig of Emden as the February Employee of the Month. Craig joined ALMH in 2014 as a sports enhancement specialist in the rehabilitation department.
Craig has been an exercise physiologist for 10 years and holds both a master’s of science degree in exercise physiology and a bachelor’s of science in exercise science. In his current role, he works with cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients, coordinates the weight loss program, and facilitates stress tests. On a daily basis, Craig provides guidance on a variety of exercise programs and health maintenance activities. He also helps coordinate the ALMH Run/Walk which takes place each fall at Edward Madigan State Park in Lincoln. This year’s walk is scheduled for October 8 at 9am.
“I am so proud to be part of ALMH, the people I work with are all dedicated to helping our patients and we work well together. We share our ideas and knowledge in order to get the best possible outcome for every patient and I see that throughout the hospital. It’s amazing and very humbling to be part of the ALMH team,” said Craig.
Craig was nominated by a grateful patient who noticed Craig’s dedication.
“He is helpful, kind, caring, and personable. He not only helps you with the exercise equipment but explains the benefits and make suggestions for your own personal exercise needs,” said his nominator.
Craig has been married to Jennifer Craig for 14 years and they have one daughter, Emily. In his spare time he enjoys exercising, working on his house and yard, and watching his daughter play a variety of sports.
