Dr. Richard Jeisy has been named the new medical director of Taylorville Memorial Hospital’s emergency department. He began Nov. 1.

Jeisy has been an attending physician in the nonprofit hospital’s emergency department, which sees more than 14,000 patients annually, since January 2014. He is also an attending physician in the emergency departments at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield and Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

He is a board-certified physician and has been working for Mid-American Emergency Physicians, which provides urgent and emergency medical care for hospitals and urgent-care facilities in central Illinois, since January 2013.

eisy completed a three-year residency in emergency medicine with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2013, where he also earned his medical degree in 2010. He has a master of arts in medical sciences from Loyola University in Chicago and a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

Jeisy and his wife, Rachael, have two children, Audrey and Anthony.
