A free golf clinic for people who have experienced a major medical or traumatic physical change – such as from an accident, brain injury or stroke – and are ready to return to the sport will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26.
The clinic will take place at Knight’s Action Park, 1700 Recreation Drive, Springfield, and is sponsored by Memorial Rehab Services and Knight’s Action Park. Golf pros Dave Schofield and Dany Baker will work with participants to improve their golf swing.
For those who need help with balance issues or other skills, Memorial Rehab Services employees will be there to provide assistance. Chairs also will be available.
“Our golf clinic is designed to build confidence and introduce new or different playing techniques as needed,” said Lisa Cline, recreational therapist for Memorial Rehab Services. “We want to help people return to a sport they loved to do – just in a different way.”
Participation is limited to about 15 people. To make a reservation, contact Cline at (217) 788-3461 or cline.lisa@mhsil.com. For more information about Memorial Rehab Services, visit MemorialMedical.com.
