The “Health is a Journey” Health Fair will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hope Academy, located on 955 N. Illinois St. in Decatur.
Sponsored by Decatur Memorial Hospital and Decatur Public School District 61, the event will offer free activities, health resources and giveaways from 20 different vendors.
“We’re proud to partner with Decatur Public Schools to share resources that will help our local families live their healthiest lives,” said Sonja Chargois, DMH community health consultant. “Good health is about so much more than medical care, and this event will highlight ways to make a healthy lifestyle more convenient and affordable for everyone.”
The event will include taste tests and cooking demonstrations, financial literacy and home ownership resources, indoor workout options and chair aerobic workout demonstrations plus a potato bar with fresh vegetable and chicken toppings.
Giveaways will be awarded to randomly selected winners and will include two adult bicycles, two children’s bicycles, one-month passes to Choice Health and Fitness, Decatur Indoor Sports Center and the YMCA.
Decatur Memorial Hospital will also provide bus tokens at the event for families who use the Decatur Public Transit system.
