Greg Owens, an LPN with Memorial Care on Koke Mill, is the Memorial Health Ambulatory Colleague of the Year for 2024.
“The most rewarding parts of my job include being involved in a patient's care and seeing an improved outcome, when I am able to assist a colleague and help them feel more comfortable and competent in their role, and when a problem arises, getting to troubleshoot that problem to a good outcome,” he said. “I look forward to continuing to serve my patients, colleagues and community to improve processes and outcomes.”
Colleagues and patients alike appreciate Owens for his positive and uplifting attitude. He approaches every interaction with kindness and respect and embodies a spirit of collaboration and shared success. He treats each person with dignity and actively avoids discrimination and bias in his interactions.
He also prioritizes safety. “Greg actively identifies and addresses potential safety hazards,” his nominator wrote. “He fosters a culture of open communication and encourages colleagues to report any safety concerns without fear of judgement, creating a safer environment for everyone.”
Owens and his wife live in Riverton with their two children. Owens has worked for Memorial Health since 2014 and was the May Colleague of the Month in 2024.
The Colleague of the Year is selected at each Memorial Health affiliate from individuals previously named Colleague of the Month throughout 2024.
