Jane Brown, an urgent care advanced practice provider with Memorial Care on Koke Mill, is the Memorial Health Ambulatory Colleague of the Month for October.
Brown’s nominator described how she did a DCFS wellness visit with a minor. During the conversation, she realized from the information provided by the child and obvious injuries that the child was not in a safe environment. She reported the situation and brought DCFS and police officers to the clinic to investigate further. All agreed the patient was not safe to return home, but there was difficulty finding a place for the child. Brown stayed three hours after the urgent care closed to stay with the patient and assist in placement.
“Jane always takes great care in all decision-making relating to patient care,” wrote a different nominator. “She is an amazing provider who is kind to her patients and colleagues. She provides safety to her patients by giving them the best care possible.”
Brown has worked for Memorial Health since 2022.
