Two Memorial Health hospital CEOs were named “Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.
Dolan Dalpoas, president and CEO of Lincoln Memorial Hospital, and Kim Bourne, president and CEO of Taylorville Memorial Hospital, both appeared on the 2024 list, which was published earlier this month.
The annual list honors CEOs of critical access hospitals for their commitment to providing high-quality care for the communities they serve. Critical access hospitals are designated by the federal government for their crucial role in serving rural communities.
“Lincoln Memorial Hospital and Taylorville Memorial Hospital model the way for other critical access hospitals with their ability to provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care, as well as their support of initiatives that improve the health of their communities,” said Ed Curtis, president and CEO of Memorial Health. “This honor is a reflection not only of the strong leadership of Dolan and Kim, but also the crucial role that LMH and TMH play in our region.”
Dalpoas, a Lincoln native, has served as president and CEO of LMH since 2006. Under his leadership, LMH has been repeatedly recognized with state and national awards for high-quality care, sustainability initiatives, innovative use of technology and more.
He also serves as the chair of the Lincoln Economic Advancement and Development board and is a member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Springfield.
“It’s an honor to be named to this list alongside so many accomplished leaders,” Dalpoas said. “I’m proud of everything LMH does to care for and support the people of Lincoln and Logan County. We have a talented team of colleagues who are committed to making a difference.”
Bourne, who has served as president and CEO of TMH since 2015, grew up on a family farm in Christian County. She recently oversaw an ambitious, two-phase facility construction project at TMH that was designed to increase accessibility and better meet the needs of today’s patient population. TMH is also actively involved in community health efforts, including implementation of a successful anti-vaping program for junior high school students that received statewide recognition.
She is a member of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network Board of Directors, Issues Committee and Legislative and Regulatory Committee; a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives; and received National Rural Health Association Rural Hospital CEO certification.
“TMH plays a crucial role in the health and well-being of Taylorville and our region,” Bourne said. “I consider myself lucky to work alongside so many caring, compassionate and dedicated people who share my vision for TMH and the work we do to improve the health of our community.”
