Free take-home information bags about breast cancer screening guidelines and treatment options for women ages 40 and up will be distributed at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, at Crossing Healthcare Drive-Thru, 990 N. Water St. in Decatur as part of the Early Detection Connection program.
Cancer screening can help find and treat cancer early. Survival chances improve if cancer is detected early. In most cases, the sooner a cancer is found, the easier it may be for doctors to respond with appropriate treatment.
The information bags include breast cancer screening guidelines, health information, a giveaway and a baked treat. The event is co-sponsored by Crossing Healthcare and the Decatur Memorial Foundation.
“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we want to help raise awareness of how screening can be an important tool in the fight against breast cancer,” said Julie Bilbrey, executive director of the Decatur Memorial Foundation. “The information bags will be available while supplies last, so be sure to stop by early.”
Drivers should follow the signs and remain in their cars.
