Tammy Matson, a nurse tech and unit secretary at Lincoln Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for June.

Matson’s attention to detail and willingness to help others whenever needed are just two of many qualities noted by her colleagues. Beyond her normal duties as unit secretary, she prepares extra charts before going off shift, helps answer call lights and bed alarms when necessary and procures needed supplies.

“Tammy always has the best interest of patients as well as the staff who work with her,” wrote one of her nominators. “She has a strong work ethic and works diligently to keep things running smoothly. She truly is a valued member of the acute care team.”

Matson has worked for Lincoln Memorial Hospital since 2014.
