Donors Make a Difference - Consider a Gift to the Foundation this Holiday Season

Pain. Isolation. Sadness.

That is not how Betty pictured life after retiring from a long career as a teacher. The previously active 70-year-old was dealing with chronic arthritis pain and found it difficult to leave her house. As time passed, Betty became depressed.

Thanks to a grant from the Memorial Medical Center Foundation, Betty’s primary care clinic has a behavioral health professional on site to help patients who are struggling with depression. When Betty’s physician realized her mood disorder needed to be addressed, she was referred to and met with the depression care manager that same day. Funding from the Foundation gave Betty the opportunity to begin receiving help for her depression immediately.

After being given educational materials about depression, attending counseling sessions and having an adjustment made to her medication, Betty is living the retirement life she always imagined. The help she received was made possible because of people in our community. Thanks to donations received throughout the year, innovative programs like this get their start with funding from Foundation grants.

Whether it’s mental health or physical health, the Foundation helps patients improve their quality of life. Donations to the Memorial Medical Center Foundation can provide other people like Betty the help they need. A gift of $50, $100 or more can change the life of a patient.
