Stacey Ziemer, a patient registration specialist with Memorial Care Urgent Care on U.S. Route 36 East in Decatur, is the Memorial Health Ambulatory Group Colleague of the Month for February.
Patients appreciate Ziemer’s compassion, concern and attention to detail as she keeps patients and family members informed.
She was nominated for Colleague of the Month because of her interaction with a patient who was waiting to be seen. The patient exhibited a facial droop and slurred speech. Ziemer immediately intervened and summoned a nurse and provider to assess the situation.
“This patient had symptoms of a stroke and was immediately transferred to a hospital,” wrote the nominator. “If it weren’t for Stacey’s observations and quick reaction, this patient could have had a different outcome. She handles each patient this way and is a true asset to the Memorial team.”
Ziemer has worked for Memorial Health since 2021.
