Jody Ruddock, a health information management specialist at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, is the nonprofit hospital’s Colleague of the Month for February.
Ruddock ensures patients have access to their health information. For those patients who don’t use the patient portal, Ruddock plays an important role in the continuity of care and patient satisfaction.
“Requests are sometimes urgent, and people are anxious,” wrote one nominator. “Sometimes their records aren’t at TMH, and Jody must do detective work to help the caller know what to do next or who they need to call. She makes great effort to ensure she has met patient needs in this area.”
Ruddock also promptly assists providers when they need medical records. Recently she received a request from an insurance company for medical records for 300+ patients with a deadline of two weeks. She had a plan in place and met their request.
Ruddock has worked for Taylorville Memorial Hospital since 2000.
