“The most rewarding part of my job is bringing teams together to solve problems to provide better patient care at Memorial Health,” said Welch. “I work with a wide range of departments and colleagues throughout the system. This unique view helps connect colleagues who may not normally work with each other, and together we find ways to make things better for our organization and patients.”
Welch helped lead the implementation of the Cerner Integration program that integrated Decatur Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville Memorial Hospital and 23 ambulatory clinics into the Memorial Health electronic health record. The program spanned 2.5 years with more than 500 members contributing.
Colleagues appreciated Welch’s organizational skills, analytic mindset, concise communication and collaborative nature.
“Cali handled a huge, highly stressful, extremely time-consuming project with grace and poise,” one nominator wrote. “She took the input of multiple stakeholders and was able to get to the goal. She was easy to communicate with, kept us extremely organized and was very helpful throughout the project.”
Welch has worked for Memorial Health since 2018.
The colleague of the year is selected from eleven individuals previously named colleague of the month from January through November of the year. Welch was the July System Resources colleague of the month.
