The Memorial Learning Center in Springfield provides students and health care professionals with the opportunity to develop necessary skills in realistic yet controlled environments.
“The Memorial Learning Center is dedicated to supporting and developing the capabilities of the health care workforce and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement,” said Ashley Farrow, Memorial Health system director for Organization Learning. “Our programming and state-of-the-art facility uses realistic scenarios paired with cutting-edge technology to help our workforce stay up to date.”
Memorial opened its learning center in 2015 on the campus of Springfield Memorial Hospital. The learning center has 16,000 square feet of simulation facilities and surgical skills labs. The building’s 10 simulated learning environments include operating rooms, an ambulance and a patient home. The center also serves as a teaching hospital for SIU School of Medicine and hosts free trainings for paramedics and emergency medicine providers.
