Dr. Shafer received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Illinois College in Jacksonville and earned her medical degree from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City.

“As a Springfield native, I’m excited to return to the area to establish my practice,” Dr. Shafer said. “It’s an honor to care for patients and families in my hometown.”
