The unit appreciates Petty’s positive attitude and attention to detail, whether it is ensuring supplies are stocked and available for patients, completing monthly audits, running alarms or answering call lights. She is also knowledgeable in important areas including wound vac and central line dressing changes.

“Tammy always ensures patient safety by speaking up and sharing insights with others,” wrote her nominator. “She offers her assistance to colleagues and patients in need. She began a clothing donation for swing bed patients, passes out newspapers, provides mail delivery and takes patients for walks or gift shop stops. She is patient, compassionate and kind.”

Petty has worked for Taylorville Memorial Hospital since 1990.
