The LMH Market Celebrates a Successful Eighth Season

9/21/2023

The LMH Market has had a successful season, hosting 11,880 visits so far. The Lincoln Memorial Foundation has provided $10,830 in matching benefits for shoppers enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This season, 125 Moving at The Market program participants have walked more than 260 laps on the fairground track, earning over $1,000 to spend at the market.

The Power of Produce (POP) Club provides activities for children from 5 to 12 years old to engage them in the local food system with educational games and demonstrations, conversations with farmers and exposure to fruits and vegetables. The POP Club has had 293 participants this season.

Jamie Jones, market coordinator, says there is still time to participate in special offerings. The final basket giveaway will be on Sept. 30 and shoppers can also get their flu shot from the Logan County Department of Public Health on Sept. 30 from 8 a.m. to noon. Shoppers seeking the flu vaccine will need identification and proof of health insurance.

“We have had a great season with amazing vendors, new sponsors, engaging programs and friendly shoppers,” Jones said. “We are celebrating the success of our eighth season and looking forward to future market seasons.”

The LMH Market is presented by the Lincoln Memorial Foundation and promotes health and wellness through fresh food and health-focused programming. For more information about The LMH Market, visit https://memorial.health/the-lm... or like The LMH Market on Facebook.
